just fitted some advance extractors with a punched out cat to my ef now my exhaust sounds like absolute crap compared to what it used to would that be because of the hollowed out converter?

I noticed quite a bit if difference after I put my Pacies and high flow cat on. Took me ages to get used to it.

It doesn't sound worse or better, just different. Oh, and I lost the burble and crackle on decelaration too.

mine sounded ALOT better with extractors/highflow cat, nice and raspy like a 6 should be, i hate that heavy bass fake v8 crap that some people go for.

yeah post a sound clip so we get an idea if its an odd sound.

Note will change a bit with extractors, but it'd be the cat that makes the most difference.

yeah its a really hollow sound i only used this because it is the shortened one for the extractors as mine was the full length one that goes into the exhaust manifold.

That is the same sound that I had when I had a punched out cat. I didn't feel that I got any real gains out of it.
Just buy a high flow cat. That way, you will get the performance gains, and will not be risking the massive EPA fines

Just my $0.02

Its not the sound db that EPA are 'mainly' concerned about, they'll be more interested in the upto- $10,000¿ fines for running a car without a cat.

And No, 'I run straight gas' and 'I didn't do and thats how it was how I bought it' doesn't apply

The gas could also need a basic tune to give it back its bark.

hollow cat + 6cyl = Wet f@rt noise. good quality high flow cat will be better. also loose the rear muffler and throw a hotdog in, that will sound better.
