cant use an el computer in an ef, i think the wiring is different. best to get a j3 off jase at t.i.performance and put an el tickford tune on your ef ecu or convert the el engine to coil pack. not sure how hard that is

Need to use the EF ECU. If you can get an EF XR equivalent then use that, if not a J3 chip with the EF XR mapping should do the trick.

Question...the EL XR6 ECU, did it come out of a manual EL?

I assume you know EL engine into EF isn't a straight swap? Refer to ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/el-engine-into-ef-t110398.html

Well it should still run with the same standard ECU, however the fuel mapping is different between standard and Tickford engine due to different fuel regulator and cam. So you may not get the most out of the Tickford engine.

i did this exact same conversion its very easy just need some parts off the ef engine like the left hand engine mount with the coil pack, the harmonic balancer with the crank angle sensor, the ef wiring loom and the destributer module very straight forward.

Mate easy, use your inlet manifold with fuelrail injectors.ect..,take dizzy out of el tick motor, take your ef cam incoder out change bottom gears over, put cam incoder back in the el tick motor then install in car done!
