Hi Everyone, first time poster, long time observer here.

My EF falcon is leaking coolant and can be seen in the photo below where the arrow is. What is that plastic tank thing called that it appears to be leaking from? Do you think it would be hard to fix?

URGENT
replace your radiator. Mine cracked right up the middle of the radiator tank and I ended up with a warped head.

:lol:

You won't be able to patch fix the cracked plastic tank. It is co-operated into the radiator, so you'll need to get a new radiator :D..

Shouldn't cost more then $500 installed I reckon...but don't quote me.

phong =P~

New s**t alloy radiators can be purchased for around $130 from eBay

Genuine copper core ones were around $180 a few months back.

You should be able to do it yourself for around $200 inc fluids.

$300 for a workshop.

the part thats broken is called the end tank. pretty common with these radiators. Also very easy to replace yourself too.

remove the air intake from the box only, no need to remove the entire box, remove the shroud fromthe top of the belts by indoing the powersteer cap and 1 nut from thermostat housing, unplg and remove the thermo fans, only 2 screws holding this assemblt in place in the top 2 corners only, drop top and bottom radiator hoses, if your hoses are soft replace them while you have them off, undo remaining bolts to release radiator, reverse process to install.

My wife can do it in about 20 mins, anyone can do it. You can snap up a new radiator from an adrad supplier for about $130ish buy the tools if you don't have them already and some good coolant and your done for under $200 easily.

thanks for the instructions Dc_todd. I was able to change my radiator last night by following them. I flushed existing coolant beforehand of course. Changing the radiator took me a bit more than twenty mins though coz it was a b**ch getting the two lower hoses off hehe
