Hey guys,
I have done a search and couldnt find much info about upgrading an ef fuel pump.
Questions:
-what are the true gains of swapping to a better fuel pump?
-if so, what should I get (eg. Walbro 255 pump)
- is it worth it?
I have an ef fairmont ghia with a full exhaust, air intake, au injectors.
Thats about it, thanks guys any help would be great :)

You wont need a fuel pump with the mods you have got. You would only need to replace it if it was failing or if you are going to turbo the car.

As Gezza mentioned...it won't do anything. Just go with a stock pump and you are fine. I have the same set up as you pretty much Ef Nut and run a stock pump.

Thanks heaps for the quick replies phongus and GeZza200,
I'm just a stupid guy who has nothing else to spend his money on but his car!:D
From your experiences with an e-series car is their much else you can do with out going turbo or supercharging it. I'm still on my p's and Victoria regulations are pretty strict, but I would like to keep the old girl running well/ if not better.
Cheers guys- I'm sure this question has been asked a millions times.

You could go with a mild Wade cam. Which would give 10-15rwkw and it wont idle much different to stock (cop friendly). Ti Performance J3 chip will get it tuned nicely so you have most power from it and economy.

No problem.

Once again...as Gezza said. A mild cam such as a Wade1636 should be good, pretty sure there are other cam brands/profiles around similar to the 1636. According to Wade, no need to upgrade valve springs, will idle fine and goes well with the auto, so can't go wrong with this. J3 is not really necessary, but a custom tune will get the most out of it. Variable camshaft sprocket will also help improve it some what.

You can go a bit more and get the 1673, however it is a bit lumpier and an adjustable cam gear, J3 and manual/hi stall auto is recommended. Valve springs only need upgrade if it is not a Tickford motor.

Thanks guys,
My story goes that I had a wade 1636 cam in my ef, but I have a feeling it was actually a 1673 cause the it was crossed out/ over so I think they made a mistake if that makes scence. Because my car was idling like a prick, was really lumpy and would stall at times. :(

One day I'll get around to giving it another go, but at the moment I'm need to get an aftermarket locking system installed because I am so f#%+ing sick of my locks going up and down and coming back to my car and it being unlocked.
Sorry for the novel, thanks guys :)

Give Wade a call and ask them if they can have a look at it. They might be able to tell you...not sure if it will be free though, but wouldn't hurt to try.
