Hey all,

I was looking to knock my idle speed up 50 rpm, mainly to eliminate some vibration that I've noticed when in D with the AC on.

I've traced my accelerator cable down to the throttle body, and I've found what I can only describe as a small 'grub-screw' with a flat-head screwdriver groove on the spring-arm assembly...IS THIS THE RIGHT ONE? Please confirm guys!

Also, will I be able to adjust the idle up manually with this screw (with AC on), and NOT have the ECU adjust the speed back down again?

Please help guys!

Hey, thanks Bob!

How's your Sequential scoop coming along?

Just to let you know, I've replaced my 'nostril' with a lower-profile scoop that looks much better ...will have to post some pics.

Looking at 3.45:1 diff & LSD as possible next project.

Just happened to pop into BRIFFA ENG'G in Morley the other day, that guy does some WILD mods!

Sorry to hear that Bob, was this at home or out? Sounds like they did some damage.

Yeah, MICHAEL BRIFFA U5/6 Rudloc Rd, Morley 0419 927 298. Does stuff like: Intercoolers, Alloy panels & drop tanks, Street & race car custom work, Alloy & SS polishing, Custom made mufflers & exhaust work, Performance tunes etc.

He was working on a Commodore (plate name 'KORRUPT') when I popped in, had the works: Custom twin split exhaust & muffler system, Custom turbo, Chrome engine bay panels etc, etc.

Yeah, would be good if one side of the screwdriver slot wasn't snapped off ...may need to use some long-nose pliers, I think!

Well, I hope you at least got something for your troubles! Nudge, nudge.

You don't happen to know any good diff guys in Perth do you?

Try Alltranz in Midland. They did my diff overhaul and so far so good.

BTW, with the altering of the idle screw, if you turn it up without putting the ECU into that "diagnostic" mode by bridging the pins, it will only be a temporary fix IMO. Otherwise I find that the ECU just learns around your alteration and brings the revs back down again. Maybe over a week or so.
