if you pull the crank angle sensor out of the distributor hole in the EF block, you can put a dizzy in there no problems.

i think people were saying you cant use EF coulpack with an EA-ED or EL ecu

Just my 5c - but all this seems a lot of hassle. I found a complete wrecked ef ($400) and transplanted all what was needed wires, computer, dash, smartlock etc in to my ea. It was a pain in the backside - but actually sounds easier than the messing around with sourcing bits & pieces. buy a complete wrecked car - then you know all the pieces you need are there to make the conversion work.

My EA now runs faultlessly.

again just my 5c worth.

the sense of achievement completing any project is well worth the hassle involved. NOT having to tell the wife you have completely stuffed the car is priceless.

I can tell you it was a relief when it started!!!!!!

Still Fun

With my project I started with a T boned EL with 75000 km on the clock. It hadn't been started in 12 months so I offered them $300 cash and drove the car home with no dramas at all.
