Ok my cousin has an EF 6cyl auto.
Every now and again, he starts it, and drives off, but he has no power.
The car can drive normally, but when you boot it, it just goes like you're coasting slowly.
He also said it only goes to around 3000rpm.
But when he turns the car off, and starts it back up, it hammers.

Any ideas on what could be doing this, i initially thought limp home mode, but it will do it when cold or warm.

Could be something to do with the Auto and one of the Sensors may be faulty

my mate had same problem kept goin into limp mode switch it off while still moving in N and the start back up and start driving and work fine till limp came back on..
changed a sensor in the auto and fixed it all
best off to diagnose it either at a mech with the computer or check the codes yourself to c wat faults have been recorded and cross reference them. plenty sites that tell u wat the codes mean..
