Hi everyone iam new to here i have a ef falcon 6 4.0 it has delvoped a miss in the engine, maninly when econo - it isnt there all the time . to replace the leads to coil pack --seen it isnt the most accesable place what is the easiest way ? or could there be another reason for this but i thought id try plugs and leads first - but the miss is more in econo

Ef stats :
Lowered
XR8 Seats front n rear
Alloys
headers, with manderal bent 2 1/2 " exhaust system

Look forward to hearing opinions on this :)
Cheers Kev

hey mate , there could be a few things causing a miss , coil packs and leads tend to play up , get a multi meter and check the resistance in your leads , could also be something simple and easy like crap fuel , but id be checking leads first

try check/clean your idle control solonoid and crankshaft position sensor, and get a compression test done.

My experience has been good with coil packs. You are more likely to have blocked injectors IMHO

check leads , make sure there in good nick and not resting on the rocker cover or any other hot surface , check too see if there lead isnt broken , spark could be eathing out on the rocker cover or something , i recon your best bet would be an ignition system drama

Well checked all the leads all ok ... took it for a run it had a few monor hic cups and for the last few days no missing -- so now i do wonder wether its could be suss fuel or there was a slighty blocked injector, seems to run heaps better on premium fuel so see it all goes

mine used to be crap on petrol due to injectors blocking up
I had a problem with gas for a few weeks and as the days went on petrol it ran better and better. Then I fixed the gas regulator and saved on fuel but the petrol ran rougher.
I tend to run a fair bit on petrol for short runs esp as its so cold these days
