friday was driving, threw it into reverse bit too quickn from drive, really big bang out the bottom end, problems started from then, though doesnt seem related. sitting at lights idle was up and down, blowing very black smoke, engine just shaking. noticed the cruise control cable is snapped, though dont know when it happened it hasnt worked for a while. sounds like some air or suction near the firewall which ive never heard before. bad noise in bottom end near gearbox, sounds like a bearing or something. nrma said tow to mechanic, get them to check computer. also had flashing test lamp (i dunno wat it was for or wat it was attatched to ), but was showing flashing. please help, im off tomorrow have to get something done to it.

ok cool, how do i actually check the map sensor?

i get this all the time, the rubber hose to the vachume sensor falls off.

the map sensor is on the firewall, inline with the throttle body. check thet the hose hasnt fallen off/plug is intact.

the same thing happened to me in my old EA, chucked it into reverse when i overshot the talking rubbish bin at Maccas, car started running like s**t, map sensor fo shizzle dizzle. When the Hose comes off the car just overfuels something shocking causing the bad idle and smoke and crap.
