Our EF Fairmont got stolen a few months ago, they used the low tech approach.
They busted open a window came into the house and took the keys.

there is no such thing as a "master key" that can unlock every tibbe lock....

The key was produced in court evidence, was at the trial against the gang, mongrel mob or black power, just a part of our humble kiwi heritage, one of their charges was related to "conspiracy" to steal fords, the key was evidence of this. Don't know how it worked but quite obviously it did.[/quote]

no offence but you obviously dont know even basic locksmithing, a master key is only useful in a master key system....and i dont think tibbe locks can be master keyed as the basic design just cannot accomodate...

he may have used another type of hacking key however

I'd say they probably just bought the pick off the web. Unlike regular lock picking, if you make a mistake with a pin, you don't need to start again, just turn the disc back the other way. They are easier to pick with the correct tool. A novice can buy it and pick a lock in a few minutes, whereas picking a pin tumbler lock actually requires a lot of practice, and several different picks.

Its possible to make a master lock with a tibbe - you would just cut the extra grooves that the single locking pin sits in, but as you say, it has to be made like that from factory, and I doubt they are.
