ef sounding like a truck and has no go??

there should be a tech doc here about changing the head? follow that to get the head off.

timing chain could be sump off/engine out perhaps

No, not the timing cover, but you have to drop the sump a bit if you want to keep the sump gasket together.
So that means either lift engine up or drop K-Frame down.
Do a comp test, see if any cylinders are down, take rocker cover off and check for broken valve springs.
Because a dodge tensioner alone is not going to cause it to lose power and run rough.
However a dodge tensioner CAN cause the chain to skip a tooth or teeth on the cam gear which can cause piston to valve interference, which can bend valves, break valvesprings and rockers, and generally f**k up your day.

ok so ive talked to a mechanic and he said that it could have possibly cracked the head aswell is this possible??

basically the motor is worked and from what hes telling me if the head is f**k i need a new head now that head cost me a f**k to get done so what are my options here?>?

take it apart yourself dude.... drop the sump and pull off the timing cover replace chain and guides...... and inspect the head and valves yourself. the mechanic is instantly asuming that the valves have hit the pistons... You may be lucky and just have a bent valve just get that changed and you'l probably find the head itself is fine. and the mechanic is trying to just make some nice $$$$ from ya.

yeah but somethings fallen into the engine anyway and i need to drop the sump which means dropping the k rame and its getting into s**t ive never done nor am confident doing so unless anyone here who knows what there doing would possibly be able to help me im gonna have to take it to a mechanic

anyone willing to give us a hand/.?
