Sometimes my ef starts and then stalls straight away when cold.
Has a new isc,thermostat,temp sensor,fuel pump.
Apart from the stalling sometimes when cold starting it runs fine.
Could it be the map sensor, coz thats about the only thing that hasnt been replaced? :?

The temp sensor has been replaced in the thermostat housing.

mine does this at the moment and I'm attributing it to s**t spark due to a bung distributor cap/rotor button.

poor spark + cold start = poor combustion = stall at low RPM.

make sense or am i in need of educating?

A possibiltiy but if that were so it would happen all the time, and it only does it roughly 1 out of ten starts.
I know the ecu takes a while to settle after being reset so ill give it a week or two and go from there.
Thanks for the replies

Makes sense, but he has a EF, no dizzy
But if it was a dizzy bassed system, it possibally what you said.
However, its usually the module (has lots of wires on it) on the dizzy (just below the cap) (TPI, IIRC :))
The TPI (IIRC its name) caused stalling at random times to mine and a few mates cars.

But this doesn't help for EFs, sorry. :( But it might help s-tranzor

If the tfi is the ignition module, then they can be a right pain in the intermittent a*** when they play up.
Most of the trouble ive had with them has been failing to start when hot but also they can make the tacho do funny things too when they are about to fail.
