EF stoped running in traffic then wound until flat battery

today i started my EF i6 drove it about 2 minutes on the highway then the engine cut out and wouldnt start, it wound until the battery went flat, what could be the problems causing this ?

Is the fuel pump priming? Put the car into ignition and listen for an electric pump noise coming from the boot. If ti is "whirring" it is priming.

Check you have ignition. Could be coil, TFI module or dizzy.

All I can't think off right now

yeah i had it stuck in traffic so i tryed to wind it over then my battery must be on its way out because it wound for about only 30 seconds then it slowed down so my next move was to get a mate with jump leads or a charged battery to check the coils for spark and the fuel pump, the fuel pumps only 12 mnths old although they always stuff up,

yeah it was my hardly worn in fuel pump s**t itself lol, thanks for the help anyway
