Dont forget el get colour coded interior buttons (grey/cappa not black), some other colour coded stuff possibly and the seat belts are also grey, not black.

not sure about this one! ef's had fluid filled mounts, better bottom end and coil pack ignition. if you believe everything you read you could argue that the ef has a better intake setup as well however both are rated the same power.

You think?
The coil pack ignition on the EFs was nothing stellar, hence why they reverted to dizzy while they ironed out the bugs in it for the AU.
intake setup is questoinable, could be argued both of them have their strengths.
Better bottom end on the EF... hmm, well its certainly not true vs the hybrid ELs, i'm not sure about the earlier els, i didn't think there was any difference in the bottom end of the two.

the bottom end difference was the counter weights.

as for the dizzy's the more common one i heard was not because it needed bugs ironed, but that it was cheaper to use dizzy.

I don't think the V8's r tickford as they are apparently pretty slow (relative to other V8's). So is the car i mentioned for sale a good deal? And what are B pillar blackouts?

the v8s are tickford, but ford wouldn't fund the v8 research like they did the I6, but yeh they suck.
By an I6 unless you want that v8 note.
B pillar blackouts - between the side windows on the car, on the edge of the front and back doors there are small parts of the door between the two windows. on EL mont's they''re black, not body coloured suits dark tint really well.

My series II ef has the B Pillar blackouts, it was also optioned as the sports pack Ghia, XR Suspension, XR wheels and XR Exhaust. They appear as factory fitted options, but the exhaust was a dealer fit item. only options i missed was full body kit and sunroof, which i am sorting out soon.
I prefer th outside of the EL as it has the chrome side bits and on the bars, as well as the chrome nose, but i prefer my Grey interior over cappucino

yep, dizzy in el's was a cost saving measure. same with the crank and engine mounts. later model el's (1998) obviously started being fitted with au engines.

i don't hear of many issues with coil packs. cam and crank angle sensors are easy enough to replace anyway. much less chance of motor being out of tune. virtually impossible if you keep up maintenance on plugs, leads etc.

only the i6 was tickford. v8 wasn't although there wasn't any difference anyway until s2 xr8 got 185kw. performance while stock is nothing amazing but they have a lot more potential than the 6 if you have the coin. fuel wise, there is not much in it either. v8's are not plagued with head gasket issues and the 5.0l windsor, if looked after, is virtually bulletproof.

as soulfire said, the door frames are black instead of body colour where the b pillars are. they're just a vinyl sticker though, and can be added to any e series.

My EL Mont Ghia has the B pillar blackouts but only on the drivers side! is it only to prevent scratches on the pillar or something? I prefer the Sparkling burgandy in the EL's over the EF's burgandy. I may be bias but i would definately go the EL.

id say you've had a replacement door, or they've been taken off the passenger side for some reason. they should definately be on both sides.

nah, i think they're there coz they look better/classier. although they do cover up scratches nicely too

No doors have been replaced as the original ford stickers are in tact on all doors and panels, both drivers doors are blacked out but both passengers door arent!
