Yea, thats how I do it. I usually go to 3000 tho, so maybe I'm stallin a little too high? I try not to let it rev out too far in 1st, but in an auto thats near impossible to avoid...

um
how the f**k are you stalling it to 3000 without a stally?
your wheels would be spinning?

Oh, ok. Umm, maybe I've got my terminology all f**k up. When i'm goin for a launch I hold down the brake and bring the rev's up. I don't normally even look at the tacho, but I think i'm usually somewhere between 1500 and 3000 by the time I actually drop and go.

Is that what you meant or am I just a wanker? lol

1500 a fair bit of play

maybe you are looking at you rpm to late
when your foot is off the brake and the revs
have started to climb

My AU will stall up to 2100rpm..... Doesn't like it, but it'll do it... Makes a hell of a noise when you let the brake off... I didn't know the old girl could do a burnout like that! lol...

don't know about old cars but in BA's your better off in sports mode as the computer can set all the electronics up for the next gear as it knows exactly when it's changing gears and when your going manual it has to be delayed. if it's only an NA i would expect you to beat him. specially if it's only a CA18, if it's an SR20 it will be closer i reckon.

I agree.

Saw a silvia down the drags.. the newest one.. ran 15.8 and 15.2 in it's two runs. I saw auto falcons down there running those kinds of times.

an S15 running a 15.8?

That's not even possible, you could wheelspin one down the track and get there quicker than that lol.

cmon guys, its obviously going to come down to his, and his mates driving skills... his mate could have an SR20DET, manual, and the works... but could have a s**t launch, wheelspin the whole way and then get flogged by the ole Ford.

Best way to find out, practice your launching, and just race him
