Good luck getting it to stall up to 3grand, it'd be spinning the rears, and ruining your brakes and transmission.

For a bog stock EF, best bet is to just plant your foot on the go pedal. Try to anticipate the lights changing to get a head start.

But really take it to the track.

So your going to race by yourselves and compare times?

Don't want to see another Ford wrapped around a tree, and the associated insurance premium hikes (my premium went up another $50 this year, I've been rating 1 for life, the cars insuraed value goes down, WTF the preiums go up...).

Some of you guys are seriously kidding yourselves here.
Shifting at 5200? Stalling to 3000? Manual Shifting 1st 2 gears?
Err, what the...The old 'manual shift an auto its quicker myth' is utter s**t, sorry guys.
Yeah, manual shift it if you want to engine brake, or to force it to hold 3rd or 2nd through a sweeper, or lock it in 1st for a bit of sideways action out of an intersection, but using it thinking it'll make it 'go faster' is a wank...
Like data_mine said... Plant foot on go pedal. It's an auto, not rocket science...

Easy it would f#$% your brakes but i sincerely doubt it would spin the rears as for planting the foot you'll just end up bogging it down

I agree with data_mine and Steady ED, but a little stall (1800 -2000) doesnt hurt.

I had a vn wagon V6, 5 spped, very quick bog standard, blew off vh 5lt, he was not amused.... took on ED XR6 Auto nailed him and have the photo to prove it :( $270 fine... yes the old VN's are quick, but vn Autos are slower than the manuals, so guess just do your home work and you should be fine, I would power mode and nail it of the line and hope for the best, once the ford is wound up should beat the VN

You obviously need more power then, mine will get the backs spinning with the brakes on. Not something I do often (once I think) as yeah it's not nice on anything, brakes, drivetrain, tyres...

i have 3.73:1 diff gears and god, the car only gets to around 40-50 km/h in first, max! 2nd gear is unreal though, keeps goin till bout 110, then third is out till round 150. Much better gearing. im guessing here cause my speedo is out by bout 20-30km/h...still got the 3.08:1 speedo gear on

A stock auto VN is quicker off the line then a stock auto E-Series, no if's or buts about it...

Don't know what a standstill is obviously... unless your torque converter is f**k, it will easily multiply enough to overpower the rear brakes.

Rev mine all the way i ain't talking an auto though and mrnasty 65 out of first 120 in 2nd and 3rd well do the math.. lol. As for standstill apparently the coppers reckon i need new tyres... lsd's are so much better especially in second. of the line i'll agree if the holden fag knows how to drive yeah a little quicker maybe but after second no chance just i have never honestly lost either way...

I've heard that before. Go some where else to race like calder park as I live on that corner & need my sleep. Theres enough fools running of them lights already.
Most run down Gilbert Park drive with their drifts and illegal racing,
