The EF Ghia's have the XR6 diff and engine, so are the ECU's very similar to the XR6 ones?

Anyone know part number for an XR6 auto ECU?

I reckon they should be the same, as all the extra electronic Ghia goodies are on the BEM arn't they? so the ECU should be the same as the engine and drivelines are the same with the XR6/

an EF XR6 ECU will start with 94DT. DT represents its a tickford ECU but dont get confused with the Tickford Gas ECU's as they have DT on them too.

I thought the exhausts were a little different too.

although i have an S2 ef ghia with all the tickford gear and the ecu has
95DA-12A650-CA

so maybe for some strange reason the ghias never got the tickford ones?

we'll have to find as i was about to sell it to ugly bob under the beliefe it was a tickford one.
seems strange as this one has the 3.45:1 diff gears and would need an ECU for those gears.

Isn't it the speedo sender that changes with different diff gears, not anything in the ECU.

The Ghias did get a Tickford ECU, but its a hybrid between tickford and ford, and it keeps a Ford part number.

If I put a standard I6 ECU into my EL Ghia, I notice a loss of power. And my Ghia ECU part number is 96DA-12a650-JB, no 96DT's here. But if I put a 96DT ECU in, I loose no power.

My understanding is that the Ghia ECU's have a standard I6 economy mode shift strategy, but an XR6 power mode shift strategy. ie, shift points and shift feel. They also cop the 180km/h speed limiter, not the higher limiters of an XR ECU.

Biggest difference is when you hit the EL range, when the Ghia's got speed sensitive steering. That would have to be the biggest difference between XR and Ghia ECU.

Did you notice an improvement when you put the Tickford one in Brett?
