Why you would want to stroke a 4l is beyond me. The stroke is already ridiculously long.

you can stroke it but there'll be no advantage to it.

you'd get more benifit from DE-stroking it back to 3.8 using a 40thou bore.

at least then you could rev the thing

how would oversizing the bore 40" decrease cacpacity? unless your talking about bore to stroke ratio or something??

be careful with that idea - a small supercharger will choke a 4.0 so make sure its big enough. Dont go any smaller than a m90 or powerdyne or you wont be happy with the outcome

btw - bore is ~92mm, stroke is ~99mm

Surely there would be a gain by stroking it out to 4.2 -4.3 litres? I know the stroke is long, but it's not like the 4.0 litre is a revvy unit to begin with?

It would be an interesting excersize :D Maybe if I win tatts one day, I'll do it for s**t and giggles.

But yeah, when modding the Falcon 6, speak to as MANY people as you can.

The 4.0 doesnt rev because its already a stroker. The geometry is really poor in the bottom end.

Long strokes are good for tractors or passenger cars but not good for performance.

it wouldn't.
what i was saying is decrease the stroke to to the piont at which you get 3.8L when using a 40thou over bore.

you would end up with a square engine at about 93.3mm stroke and bore with a piston speeds of 4285 at 7000rpm
as aposed to 4561 for the stock stroke.

you'd also get a 6mm longer rod which will help alot witht he poor stroke rod ratio the engine has
