Whats up everyone

Just picked up my new EL Ghia on sunday.

I knew there were going to be some small things wrong with it.. but it was doing what my Gli also did before I sold it. Basically when it is cold & first started it will stutter on takeoff for a second or two then finally rev smoothly. Dad and myself think the injectors just need to be cleaned / replaced. But I think I've read something similar somewhere on here that it could have something to do with the MAP sensor or IAT sensor. Just want a second opinion thats all. Cheers

Video of it:

(I accelerate right at the start of the video)

How old are the plugs? My ED did the same thing until I replaced the plugs....Went like a beauty after that.

Plugs are brand new (Iridium IX), just replaced them yesterday along with the fuel filter.

get some Nulon carby and throttle body spray, drop the snorkel off the throttle body, start the car and keep the revs up to it while sprying straight down the throttle body, making sure you spray the butterfly and make sure its moving nice. Try that first

MAP sensor hose looks good and intact, distributor has been replaced recently before I bought it, the spark plugs looked alright, nothing odd, and the car has never been on lpg to my knowledge..

guess it must be the injectors then?

exhaust gas recirculation valve. it recirculates the exhaust gasses back into the throttle body when the air entering the car is to cold or when the exhaust gasses have too much unburnt fuel still in them.
Seriously, drop the snorkel off the throttle body and give it a good spray with the stuff I said like I said. Once finished spray the outside of the throttle body and around the mechanical mechanisms and try that. Sounds like your car either has a ecu problem in setting things up for cold start or the mechanicals used by the ecu on cold start are playing up. The only other thing I can think of is the thermostat.
If it was the injectors it would do it all the time. Cold start or hot start the injectors dont change.

E-series falcon's with MPI do NOT use a EGR valve--commonly found on diesel engines. Cold start issues can be caused by a faulty coolant temp sensor always showing a high temp thus causing the car too run lean on start up when it should run rich. To check this sensor put the dash in diagnostic mode in the morning and the coolant temp sensor should be close to ambient temp.

Other than that I would be looking at ignition coil, ignition leads and then checking fuel pressure at the fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump.

cheers for the info guys. I'm going to be taking off the bbm and cleaning the whole lot out. All the sensors and carbon build up along with checking out the dizzy and leads. Then going to put in my phenolic spacer and new au injectors. If that doesn't do the trick then F**k knows. :D
