anyone have any idea about the price for a starter motor for an EL fairmont? also, is removal/fitment difficult? thnx

Not that difficult to fit, if you jack the car up and slide under into the right spot to reach the bolts.
cost wise around 160-180 retail.

city ford melbourne had them on special for $120 new phillips ones, was still going last week.

not too difficult, just annoying to get to the top bolt, i used a long extension bar and attached the rachet right at the end of the starter.

don't forget to dissconnect the battery first.

thanx for the replies.. um are the phillips units at city ford any good? or are the bosch units better? and is it worth getting a starter recoed?

oh btw.. are the phillips ones at city ford only for E-series or BA/BF as well or are they interchangeable?
