NEED HELP,
I have purchased a turbo charger off a BA XR6 and i wanna put it on to my EL falcon. i have been told by a few mechs that it can pull 300kw outta my engine with a turbo before it really start to f**k it up. what would be involved in putting this turbo on. of course i will have to modify the ECU the real question is will it work if i have 3k to spend now that i have the hair drier. thanks

I'd reccomend to decompress the head, by eigher using different pistons, and or a copper headgasket. you'd also have to make up a new inlet manifold and outlet, Pretty sure the stock ecu can handle up to 10psi boost. I wouldent just slap it on there and away you go, Id strengthen your motor first........ not to mention the driveline too

i dont think 3k is gunna get u a reliable turbo motor. the gearbox, diff, and engine need to be strenghened if u wanna pull that amunt of power. u will need a intercooler & plumbing as well as new ex manifold etc etc

With $3k it will be possible to get your turbo setup up and running at about 5-6psi using stock motor and ecu, bigger fuel pump, 2:1 fpr, manifold, exhaust, cooler and piping. Anything above this then you will need to start lookin at a new Computer. The standard ford 4l is a very strong motor and is capable of up to 15psi if in good condition. I suggest reading through this entire thread on forforums as it covers everything required and difference option you have with proven results. Its fair read but well worth it.
