hey guys

i own a 96 EL Gli and i just wondering if i would stand a chance at beating my mates VT Berlina... both cars r stock as a rock mine has done 220,000klms and his 175,000klms...just interested if i would stand a chance at the traffic lights...if im gonna get flogged wat mods would you suggest to match him cheers guys any help appreciated

From the line he may get you but they have no boogy in the vt and being the 6 fairly gutless (the commodore) and being heavier than yours.

You should have no problem. You may have a problem if it was an Early one VN-VS as they are quick

I have had a few goes against a VS and a VT. each time the pattern was the same: 0 --> 60 commo quicker, 60 --> 75 falcon little bit quicker, 75 --> the falcon was much quicker.

If we got an even start, they wouyld get half a car by 50, 75 even, by about 100 i would be two or three cars ahead.

As for actual wins though, i only go to speed limit, so most races have been to 60, and i have won most, but purely by being able to get a 2/3 car jump on them on the start!!

Best way to make it easy for yourself, pay attention to the lights!!

Had to laugh when a car load of lads in a VS pulled up beside me and started eyeing me off, revving the car. When i got to 60 a car length ahead, they werent happy!! Windows now up and backs turned to my car!! ha ha ha

Ran into one of the stato's I dragged on Firday, he wasn't impressed. Even more so when I said it was 'only' a 6.

VT is same motor as the VS but weighs a fair bit more. That is why it is a fair bit slower!
