After using my keys to swat a fly today the expected happened and the remote case opened (screw missing like the owner!) and the battery popped out.
I must have left it out too long as the remoted central operation then failed!

Straight to ForMods for the fix BUT!
After the learning procedure is complete my indicator lights flash once but no door lock operation...
I tried the same procedure, clearing the remote, adding the remote, the result is the same, no door locks work just the indicator lights flash once.

I could use some advice please, hopefully someone has seen this before?

Cheers

do the doors lock with the dash button or keys?

Seems very strange that the indicators function.

I doubt the fob's stuffed, if so I have a spare one you can have.

I am assuming the fob is ok since the car is picking up the signal, just that the response is wrong.

I am going to give it a few more goes and see if it won't come good...

It's Fine!
Went back to the car and it had locked itself?
Tried the remote and presto, opens and closes again!

I might need and old priest and a young priest if it happens again...

Thanks Krytox!

Do the usual fuse checks.

Pay particular attention to the crt fuse (obviously the interior light works as your posting at this time) so it should be ok.

Is the car a wagon?

Only other thing I can think of is the BEM body electrics module) ie: receiver is buggered (dry solder joints) common problem, and very cheap to replace.

keep pondering! post all you find as it helps others.
