Yeah made it home eventually by about 2am, filled it up a few times cause it was near bone dry. First refill was about 30kms from Heathcote cause the heat was in the red. Thanks for the jerry can again, that thing saved laves that day. Tried chemi-weld at Kilmore but cause the water pump is stuffed it cooked itself and spewed the s**t back out.

Next stop, performance replacements. Hopefully it'll be back on the road in 3 - 4 weeks, just waiting for a few more parts to arrive.

How much would a standard 1997 EL Fairmont Ghia be worth these days? I know all cars arent in the same condition, km's etc but whats a rough price range?
Thanks

I bought one for $7,250 only a week ago. 136km, Mocca Foam, leather....

Immaculate car. Only thing wrong with it is the drivers window is a little slow going up.

Have a look at my forum topic, "EL Fairmont Ghia", anyone help out?

Consider yourself lucky that you missed out that car was nothing short of a lemon.... Im looking for one of these too.. that car had more bog then a taxi.. was previously written off in fact i dont think there was one original panel on it.. not to mention that u could still see the sand paper marks from the dodgy respray.. gotta watch out these days alot of lemons out there

good buy, sounds like a electric motor on the way out, i had the same thing happen to my old NC fairlane then one day it totaly stopped worked cost a bit to get fixed too. Those power window motors are a real bastard to get out apparently (i think from memory they are riveted in.)

Mine is a one owner with books, bought and serviced from Peter Warren Ford since new. The old bloke was just upgrading. He said he sold it for red book valuation? Its a perfect car. $7250, thats probably what they are worth now isnt it??

Which is a better mod to an el, a set of extractors with standard exhaust or a 2.5 inch sports system with standard headers?????

Which will make more power?

When I was looking for my EF about 3mths ago EL Fairmonts were around 6-7k maybe another 1k for Ghia. I got my EF for 4.2k. Just need to look and be prepared to drive for the right car.

cheers
Scott

My money would be on the 2 1/2" cat back making more power.

If it were me, I'd save for both replacement headers AND the zorst.
