Does the snorkel make any difference at all??

the intake pipe from the airbox on the 6 is very very small. Whats the use on putting the bigger snorkel on?

Improvements to the intake system improve throttle response. If you just upgraded from an el gt snorkel to an au xr8 snorkel and this is all you did you wouldn't notice any difference at all. However if you put on the au xr8 snorkel, installed a good panel or pod filter into your original airbox and bought yourself a decent intake pipe (from back of airbox to the TB) it should add a few kWs. Even if you kept the original air intake from the back of the airbox installing a bigger CAI and decent filter doesn't hurt!

whats it worth kw wise??

On my EL, I have AU XR Snorkel, K&N Panel Filter and intake pipe from airbox back to first join (not right back to throttle body).

Didn't the EF/EL XR6 and XR8 have a smaller snorkle compared to the EL GT?

I was also told that the AU XR8 snorkel is a tiny fraction smaller than the EL GT one.

BUY AN EL GT SNORKEL!

NO they're exactly the same. Like i said if you ring up ford they'll tell you they're exactly the same. I ordered an EL GT one from ford, and i know it was the gt one because it had the part number label on it starting with GTVE. It's exactly the same as every other EL XR snorkel, i've compared it. Don't get an el gt snorkel, get an AU XR8 snorkel, you will have to drill two holes that's all.

the part number for the snorkel should actually be EFTVE 9A624 A
