hi, the oil pressure sender units are common to do this, sometimes they fail causing this high pressure signal and sometimes they block up with gunk in the oil.
i have fixed my EL before by removing the sender unit and washing it out well with degreaser a few times and refitting it.
otherwise it may be worth buying a brand new one , think they are around $60 from ford, but repco etc should also sell them

they are fitted to the motor between the coil and the dizzy, and u need to be carefull removing them as the break easily. u need a deep socket to fit over them to undo it.

might be different but, my oil pressure sender on my au failed and cost me 15 bucks through auto one, but was a pain in the a** to replace,

You haven't been fiddling in that area and accidentally pulled the sensor cable off.

That will send the dash gauge to MAX.

the highest point on the stock gauge is about 80psi. that wont hurt your engine, but that doesn't mean its good.

but more often then not the sender is faulty and pressure is fine.
