Hi guys

Sorry to post this, but have looked around on the internet and fordmods for this and I still have got mixed answers

I'm looking at purchasing a EL hybrid engine for my EF which has done a headgasket. I'm just wondering what exactly I should need, to help fit the EL into my EF. Can it be done with little to no problems? Or are there a few little things that need to be modified in order for the car to operate?

Should fitting the EF's coil pack to the engine be easy, or does the EL;s ecu need to be re programmed?

Cheers
Daniel

Just fit coilpack and associated bits.

So running the EF's ECU will also be fine? Do you recommend getting any other bits and peices off the ELs motor that might help in the fitting?

If you are using the EF engine loom, crank sensor, coil pack then there will be no issues.

As has been said, just fit the EF accesories, ie coilpack, cam sensor, crank sensor, and alternator. EF had 110amp alt and EL had 100amp. Need the extra amps for the coil pack. That way you don't need to worry about loom change or ECU replacement. And fit a new coilpack, AU1, when you do the motor change, with new leads and get your Injectors serviced or replace them with AU injectors, better spray pattern.

EF ECU is set up for coilpack and EL is set up for Dizzy. ECU can't be reprogramed as such.

Personally I would replace the head with a 94AB or a Tickford head, or better still CMS stage 2A, just my preference.
