ok at first i doubted this thread.

i just went out with a torch and undone the flexi pipe and shown a torch up the plastic intake pipe on the plenium.

wow that lump in there is a huge restriction, i can't believe that they would put an obstruction like that in the intake.

time to go to an exhaust shop or autobarn and get a replacement 3in pipe that keeps it's diameter.

At wide open throttle that speed bump does not help................

doesnt the el air intake box flow more air through it then the ef? or is it the same. all i can say is there is more then one way to build something. yeh the engines my be the same. but other stuff isnt. its not logical to think that, the camel hump is going to make the car go slower.

I cut that so called camel hump out years ago and made a piece to go in there to make it perfectly round, it made no difference that i could tell.
Though i am sure someone else will tell you otherwise.
Notice how i quoted you, i have blocked myself from reading the other guys posts LOL.

The EF airbox lid flows 18% better than the EL/AU airbox lid.

and the post feb 98 coons also had some of the AU setup, which made more power. if you want more performace, throw a cam at it

well then how did you get the bolts to go back in the threads on the plenium. it would be sitting way too high and look d**k.

i am going to see my mate at the exhaust shop again and get this noticeable flaw fixed properly.

superglue and plastic pipe fixes don't wash with me. dodgy s**t......

EL_Fairmont, so tell us how long it took you to drive from Launceston Tasmania to Nebo QLD. excluding the ferry ride.
what was your average fuel consumption & time gain from the trip, with the EF intake pipe. LOL

I too have played around with the wifes ef intake pipe, swapping it over to the AU. there wasn't any noticeable difference to brag about. sorry!

Dude, give up, you'll just end up with a camel hump on your forehead or eye soon.
