As per the norm, check all your vaccy hoses/electrical plugs and make sure they are all fitted and where they're supposed to be.
If the EB ECU you mentioned is an EBI (just going off the radiator hose thing), I'd plug in the EL ECU - should still run even without the BBM solenoid wired up. Even an EL auto ECU will still run, just with added thermo roar and 1200RPM idle.
I would think if firing order was wrong, the car wouldn't run, just would pop/f@rt etc. Sounds more like the MAP sensor vaccy hoses is not hooked up, or maybe one of the injector electrical plugs is loose.

Wouldn't hurt to confirm base timing is correct.

if you have spark at the plug on that cylander then the only thing you are missing is fuel, that is assuming there is nothing severe wrong with it.

i put a new rotor arm in the dizzy to when i put new gaskets threw the motor. . .

umm bit hard to check spark by myself.

what i would like to find out is the correct places for the vaccy lines to go . ie map sensor and the bbm switch (vsv) not too sure to be honest had a guess but dont know if im right or not.
