That is approx 113RwKw. That is s**t. I have seen 400,000km stock engines put out higher than that.

They are a 150+FwKw engine fresh from the Factory and allowing for 25% loss at the drivetrain is what you have 113RwKw.

thats why i said it seems low. with a "stage 3" cam, exh, intake and machine work he should be looking at at least 135rwkw, i think anyway

whats the specs of a crow "stg 3"? i thought it was a bit smaller than the 977b

Have to ran it without the chip?
Sounds to me like someone's pinched a seal replacing the pump. Or something else fuel related like you said before.
If I were you id go over EVERYTHING that's been done before buying another chip.
Check fuel filters tight (very tight, I've seen em suck air through the threads), fuel line at reg are tight. All vacc lines are on and tight. Timings spot on. Pumps installed properly.
Dosnt cost you anything to check these things.

Could even be the tps.

I'm suspicious of the whole "stand alone fuel pump" thing - if the fuel rail/reg is connected back to front to a high capacity pump it's concievable it might carry enough pressure initially in the rail for low revs but quickly starve...

I thought the same thing but the mechanic is sure that it would be enough. Might I be better off going with a pair of high volume bosch pumps?

No - the pump capacity is probably fine - I'm talking about whether the pressure line from the pump is connected to rail and the return line to the tank is connected to the regulator. Not saying you guys have done it, but common mistake when setting up from scratch is to think the pressure line goes to the regulator - which is wrong.

Normally the engine won't even run if those lines are back to front, but if the pump has enough capacity it might be concievable for it to hold enough pressure to run in a limited capacity.

I'd check the fuel line again to make sure they are connected correctly and maybe timing. Make sure the fuel filter is put in the right way...if it is put in backwards, it will starve the engine of fuel.

Check intake isn't leaking vacuum. Let the car idle and then spray some "Start-ya-bastard" or Carb/Brake/Throttle cleaner around the intake area. If the idle jumps, you have a leak.

Double check exhaust is not blocked either.

Crow cams billet or regrind?

Will removing the chip disable the car or should it still run? I just want to make sure I'm not going to fry anything if I try it because I don't have a replacement chip to try.

Will still run, just not well. Running rich and lumpy as BUT you will be able to drive it an see if it's still messing up under load.

Car won't start let alone run without the chip. Being in a dirt track race car that has been stripped down and now has all fiberglass panels, I'm guessing the chip is bypassing smartlock or smartshield.
