looking good. Stock rebuild or is it getting performance bits?

Black painted intakes seem to be coming into fashion. Might want to give the block a coat of gloss while you can as well.

Have you reset the timing chain tensioner?

Pull the rocker cover off and see if its binding up somewhere.

and whatever you do dont force it until you work out what it is.

yeh tensioner has been reset.

i took the rocker gear off and tryed it and its all fine turns freely.

i did replace the valve stem seals but made sure it all went back wher it cam out. as i did 1 at a time.
so hmm thinking maybe it was a valve hitting a piston ? if so what do i do to rectify the prob and how could this of occured ?

If you forced it hard enough you would.

When you put the piston to TDC where is the timing mark on the cam gear sitting?

basically level = level or no more than 3mm above?

Are you finding TDC using the mark on the balancer? If so are you sure it hasn't slipped?
