Gday blokes iv got my XH motor out and ready to put the EL motor in and i can already notice the loom and some wire plugs are not going to match, iv found out the EL motor might infact be a NL! would this explain it?? because iv been told the wire plug should all match up. not sure what to do!! any info much appreciated ;)

Take to Engine loom off the XH Engine and put it on the EL engine. No issues.

EL & NL 4.0L are the same loom.

Take to Engine loom off the XH Engine and put it on the EL engine. No issues.

You will need to extend a couple of wires for the TPS and air temp etc, on the XH loom, but it is much easier to do then modding them the other way around.

I'm guessing the XH is pre Oct 97 - which has the separate transmission plugs - one round, one rectangular.
Best option as SWC suggested - won't need to extend wiring.

Thanks fellas got the motor in and found out its an ef motor with the coil pack changed the dizzy n loom over all good now run out of daylight gutted wannted to fry sum tires aha

Might be a good safeguard to put the cam angle sensor gear onto the dizzy before installing - same gears meshing - should be no aux shaft gear issues then.
