Welcome to the site.

I6 = good performance 'outta the box'. Plenty of cams and head packages arounnd. Expect head gasket to give you worries....

V8 = not much quicker (if at all) than the I6. Great torque tho, driveability to die for. Heads and intake manifolds arent great for performance (more built for low-down pwr). Altho late EL XR8 has 185kw. Reliability in the windsor engine is amazing. Lots of aftermarket goodies available but block has a 500hp safety limit (aftermarket blocks are available tho, lol).

I own an EF XR6 beofre and I noticed that my later EL XR8 is smoother at high revs than EF XR6.

Admitingly b4 i decided to get my XR6 i was looking at a Deep Sea Blue series 2 EL XR8, 185kw donk and well... I never got to drive it but damn it sometimes i wish id rather had the V8!

BUT ive had this XR6 for 14 months now and well its grown on me so yeah i dont regret buying it.... PLUS the 6's are cheaper to run and cheaper to insure.

Just drive each of them and decide after that which suits you better.
