Hi all, just done a head gasket and now my xr6 wont fire, every now and then it has a cough but thats it, is it possible to get the camshaft in 180 degrees out? As the dizzy is on number one at TDC, cheers

Hi,

Yes it is possible with most engines. You can take off the rocker cover and look, or take out No 1 spark plug. Put a cork in and wind the engine over. ( not use the starter ) On the compression stroke the cork will pop out, then look at the Dizzy.

Hi,
Thanks so much for the reply, ended up sorting rhe problem out yesterday morning, it wasnt on the compression stroke when the dizzy was pointing to nunber one, so therefore on TDC it was pointing to number 6 ahah, thanks for the info :)
