bit of a silly post, but better to be safe than sorry...

my car stalled and lost all spark, so after a bit of investigating it sounds like its the coil or the low tension lead between the dizzy and coil

after f**k around without pulling the manifold off or going under the car (broken jack lol) ive managed to pull the low tension lead and trigger wire off the coil

so question is, can i run a coil above the manifold with the trigger wire and low tension lead to test...or am i missing something?

and when i pulled the trigger wire off, a brown colored wire with a sleeved clip came with it (its in the same bunch of wires), looks like its off a sensor...
have i pulled this off without knowing, or is it not meant to be connected to anything?

anyone know of the wires place/function?

i know its a bit vague, but tryna get some help with this before having to pull the manifold off to investigate
cheers

the brown wire sounds like the oil sensor wire.

if you can get the right connections you can extend the coil wires to any where you want.

it could also be the module on the distributor.

on another forum it was suggested it goes from the positive connection on the coil to the condensor (maybe he meant capacitor?

so this is something ill have to attatch to the new coil when i do testing?

sorry bit of noob questions lol havnt seen too much ford stuff

yeah condensor sounds a bit better,,yeah you will need it,,it balances stray currents.

ah yeah,,i forgot the starter is on that side,,never had to touch it so didn't compute that that was what is was for,,yeah the tfi module can be replaced separately of the distributor,,i don't know how awkward it would be though..
