You should get into the habit of resetting your trip meter when you refill and go of that. Pull of the fuel line to check if your getting any, If not, pull out a sparky and see if you've got spark.

possibly a silly question, but do your interior lights work?

not a silly question at all... the BEM drawers one of its power feeds from the interior lamp circuit, and if there is a fault/blown fuse the BEM wont power up and therefore wont enable starting of the motor

Well start with the basics.
When you turn the ignition to the start position and the dash idiot lights come on, can you hear the fuel pump hum briefly in the back of the car? If not then your fuel pump may be having a problem.
You can check for spark by pulling out one plug with it's lead attached, hold it up close to a rocker cover bolt and see if it arcs when you turn the motor over. If no spark then investigate back towards the coil.
Tell us what you find.

Even if the pump does hum it may still be stuffed. when my EA's pump failed it was pumping back into the tank!

Sure, but still worth checking as it is also a common fault when those pumps fail.

also if u did run out of fule and put 10 ltrs in it still might not be enough fuel to start it. some cars have to sides to there tank and if it gets emptay it can take 20+ ltrs to get fuel to the pump
