My EL 4Litre engine has blown up with a DEV5, and i am looking for a engine builder in the melbourne area??? To either rebuild NA or maybe a turbo build depending on price? Besides Jim Mock!
I have budgeted around 6 to 7 grand so far, any help or ideas would be great??? Cheers

Hey,
Any reason why you cant do it yourself??? At least then you will know it's done right. Only suggestions i have is get a reputable engine shop to do the machining, ( no trouble from GEM for me ), and buy decent parts. Strange that if JMM, did your engine, and it didnt last, how old was it actually?? Surely there should be some warranty?? Cheers Daz

Car has only done 40,000 kays in 5 years, motor was done in middle of 2005 so even less since it was done! oil changed every 3000 kays, warranty is only 12 months i think, The kit was also $5800, first it was my bottom end, that was all i had to rebuild but now i found out my head is stuffed to

Hey,
It sounds like a lot of bad luck for sure. You were changing the oil more frequently than i would (was it synthetic??). If you want to pay someone to do the engine, you could try C.O.M.E. , they are in Melb', and i am sure they will do the ford engine, even though they specialise in Chev motors. mine started off as a mock dev 5! Eventually got tired as they all do and then it went to the small shop in my town! No bad reports at all when i got it back! Been more than happy with it!

Dandenong Rebores, see Don Jewel. Great engine builder. Built me a Cleveland 351 which was/is indestructable. I know it is still going after 15 years 'cos I have seen the car again.
 Should never have sold the truck (ZK Fairlane) I have regretted it ever since.
