My Gregory's manual was very helpful, had all the important info I needed for my rebuild. Just make sure you have the right book for your engine.
Street Machine mag did a 3-part series on rebuilding the e-series I6 a few years back, but it was a bit vague. You might find it helpful.
There arent many books on the I6 ford available, so the gregorys/haines is your best bet. :D

Best Fords Issue 5, OCT 07.
Ok the scans seem to work, will do the rest if anyones interested.
When veiwing the scan in explorer, hold your mouse over the pic and click the little box in lower right corner to enlarge and clear it up.

If this is against copyright or anything, mods feel free to remove.
It's a pretty good guide and cant find anything on the web where someone could order this as a back-issue or something, would be a shame as this would be pretty helpful for alot of people.

Use photoshop, set it to JPG and have the compression around 8, try that.

I am interested also. This may be a bit of an ask, but I think it may be easier if you scanned it all and then zip it up as one file :D. Just a suggestion.

And exactly what happened to your first engine you rebuilt?

Ummm.. I can't remember if mine or Kyle's was first.

If it was mine, its sitting on an engine stand cos the car it was in was written off. Until then it was going very well.

If it was Kyle's, it runs regular 14.2/14.3

Anymore smart a** questions?

How do know clearances, tolerances, torque settings and the like by "experience and seat-of-the-pants"? Or are you one of these wombats who just does everything up tight with a ratchet and can't see why that isn't correct? Don't encourage a rookie engine builder to go by the seat of his pants, when you know full well he will just get into trouble, and it will cost him way more than a $35 manual from super cheap.
I have been building engines for 20 years or more, and I use the appropriate manual or book EVERY time.
The scariest thing is someone with a little knowledge, who thinks he knows it all. But as we all know, the dumb ones have the best luck, so you keep going like you are, and we'll see you at the wreckers buying your parts.

I think he was taking the piss out on some of us...hence the wink...but then again it is arm79, I can never understand what his motives are :P

EBMontTom, if you can't upload zips, then I think the next best thing...Word Document? but the file might be huge. If that is not your cup of tea, then I say just upload each page.

Another way, send it to their emails...you can send me the zip file to me if you want :D. phongus@optusnet.com.au
