234,000kms and you want a fresh engine? Am I missing something here? I might be the 1,200,000km man but still, how much wear can an engine display at a measly 234,000kms?

Upgrade to 15W40 oil and all that will disappear (except for the timing chain rattle).

Its not down on compression. Its not blowing smoke. Its not going clack clack clack really loudly all the time. Its not down on power. Its not idling like its dropped a cylinder or 2. So essentially its still a good engine.

Id go Valvoline 15w-50 semi sinthetic Dura Blend or Penrite HPR15 15w-60 semi sinthetic with those kms

The engine conversion of a EF/EL/AU is a great idea but id do that if u plan on keeping it for another 2-3 yrs to get ur money's worth as long as ur trans is in good condition as well, but then again u can also get good deals on engine and trans if u shop around.

I also agree with the other guyz when they say if it aint broke, dont fix it.

How many kms does it get from a full tank??? this will indicate if engine is running well or not

On a full tank of 98 it does about 400-450 which is pretty average but i've heard worse :P yeah not getting an engine reco now i was just dumb and assumed it was some awesome way to make your car drive like brand new. Only two problems i have now are the power steering belt slipping and sometimes it'll be stubborn and not start like, there wont be a sound of struggle from the engine just no sound at all :S i've narrowed it down to the grounding cable which looks a*** or the starter motor...atleast i think its one of the two...
