Hi Guys lookin around the joint and thinking to myself maybe it is time to think about updating the engine in the old girl been thinking about a late Ed motor or EL or EL hybrid.... but i thinking bout the whole smartlock s**t i know you can purchase like bypass modules etc etc

But i had an Idea....... Would this Work....... I get the engine either ED or EL and get an EBII or ED under dash loom (that runs cluster radio etc etc) and just install a smartlock module and ecu...........

OR thinking about getting a motor and just running the 3.9 ecu... with that i assume that would retard the preformance etc etc... i would go pre smartlock 4 ecu but they would be hard to find.........

any help guys suggestions price wise esperiance etc etc

you can swap the engines no probs, the smart lock has nothing to do physicly with the motor,,its all in the wireing and electonics built into the paticular vehicle

you'd get the full potential as the motor will run as it would if it were already from an eb.

i have a eb engine in my ea and it runs better than the 3.9 did, just swap it straight in.

i wouldnt waste your money on an ed motor. get an au one. they're cheap as chips at the moment and will last way longer than the rest of the car. more power too :)
