G'day
was on my way to work this morning and I only made it 2-3km away from my house and my engine stalled as i was turning a corner. Ignition was on, everything was working fine. So i started it back up and it started perfectly fine. Drove another 1km and it just stalled again when i got to a round about. I drove it back home and took another car to work. Anyone know what could be happening? something electrical? :?

I'd look at coil and TFI module first...they are prone to die while driving...especially TFI.

na it did it just after i turned and the 2nd time it just died when i was braking. There was no warning it wasn't rough or anything, it just stalled straight away and started back up straight away when i turned it over.

This probably ISN'T your problem but I thought I'd chuck it up, just in case.

I was installing a new car stereo in my EL and of course being a silly 17 year old wasn't watching and touched two wires together. Blew the fuse labeled CRT LP which made the roof light go off. Bugger, I'll have to finish this off tomorrow. Taped up the wires but no ignition when I went to start it. You need that fuse for ignition apparently (or possibly the fuel pump? or injection?) so maybe just check that fuse, although if it stops while you are driving it's probably not that.

Good luck with your trouble shooting though mate.

IF YOU SORT THIS OUT PLEASE POST WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND THE SOLUTION - all too often people post asking about problems only to be ragged on about searching - but there are an AWFUL LOT of questions like this where there's NO subsequent follow up...
