I have noticed in the years that I have been around people have done alot of engine swappage from EA to EL etc etc some case's people have done it a few times etc.

My question is do you when you have swapped the motors etc Gotten a blueslip to change the engine numbers and alike for the rta etc?

I just wonder cause when I worked for the local wreckers, it was disclosed to the customer that a blueslip is required for the rta to have the correct details etc.

I am I right or way off? What do you need to change the details at the RTA?

ive done a couple of au into box car conversions, and you need to get a blue slip for change of details, but the only check the numbers match the receipt.
basically supply the receipt for the engine which normally has the engine number the engine size,
then off to the rta with the receipt for the engine and the blue slip and the rta changes the details and the engine number on your papers, your done....

aslong as the engine is from the same variety eg ford falcon 4.0l and is fitted with factory(un modied) mounts there is no real need for any engineering..

although my car is engineered for the supercharger, but the engineer was not concerned that i had an au vct in my box car. he said aslong as it was fitted with factory mounts it was fine...

lol..

the thing that stung me was i had to get a blue slip to change engine details,
then after it was engineered i had to get a second blue slip to confirm that the engine that has the supercharger was the the same engine on the engineers report...

I'll tell you about a monumental stuff up by Queensland Transport.
It's not a Ford but a Holden, a HG GTS Monaro......ridgie didge artical.
Now, when Holden fitted the Chevy V8's, the engines had a number on there already, but Holden put their engine numbers on there too.
The bloke went to register the vehicle, and they didn't believe the numbers and said it was probably a stolen engine ( fukin experts???? ....original engine for the car too..)
anyway they told him to go to the copshop, get issued an engine number and have it stamped into the block before being reinspected for rego.
So now, there a 3 engine numbers on the block.

I did an engine swap...standard EL motor to a Tickford motor...just had to notify VicRoads, proof of engine purchase and make sure the engine numbers matched when the guy inspected it. Don't remember if I had to pay a fee or not.

same here, went from ED 4.0 to EL tickford, all i had to do was go into vicroads so they could see that the numbers were correct and they changed it.

however a mate put a 20valve 4age in his ae86 sprinter which originally had a 16valve 4ac (only differences are EFI and 4/5 valve per cylinder) when he went to get the rego done on it, the workshop wouldnt touch it untill he had an engineers certificate in hand.

as far as i know in queensland you dont need a slip unless the engine is soo many kilowatts over the amount the original engine produced.
so for example if i swapped the engine in my car with an XR6 i wouldnt have to get a blue slip
but if i put something with more power too it in the car then id have to get a blue slip.

In NSW you can go 15% over the largest capacity motor fitted to that model before it needs engineering, but any swap requires a blue slip.
