Hi, can anyone let me know if you can fit an EL motor with distributor ignition into an EF with distributorless ignition and if so is it necessary to alter any wiring. I would assume that the ECU would need to be changed, and possibly the BEM for the Smartlock system. Can anyone offer any advice on what is needed to do this engine swap? Any help will be appreciated.

the motors are essensially the same, you can run the coilpack on an EL engine, but if you want to use a dizzy your will need an EL ECU and engine looms. smart lock should stay the same
