Ive got a problem with my EA my engine wont start, there is no spark coming from the leads and they are only new and the dizzy looks fine..I think it could be either the Ignition coil or the module on the dizzy. Any help would be appreiciated.

when this happened to my ea turned out to be the coilpickup module inthe dizzy but you could be luckier than myself might be something easy to fix

Check the centre pin inside the dizzy cap, they sometimes fall out.

Pull out the lead from the coil, and see if that has spark. Probably just the coil, but it is a bit of a b**ch to replace, being up under the inlet manifold. Two 8mm bolts and it should come out.

Have you check inside the cap? terminals, centre pin etc? That pin falling out is so common it catches many people out.

Check the coil by putting a earthed sparkplug into coil lead and have someone crank engine over, if you have a good powerful spark, then its not the coil.

If it does turn out to be the coil it is easier to change from underneath.

hey guys ive put a new coil in over the weekend and there is still no spark!!

i was wondering if anyone could tell me where the main ignition fuses and fuel pump fuse is located?? it would be a great help? cos it also seems that my pump is not priming on ignition as well so i just want to check pump fuse as well.

In the EL the fuses for the TFI and fuel pump are located under the overflow tank, you should have checked these first, they might be the same in the EA
