I've got an AU2 2001 sedan that was originally a police car, according to the service records anyway, and i've been told that they do a few things to it, like add some chip to the ecu and give it stiffer suspension - anybody have some more specific info, like how powerful it would be now? Google has failed me :x

Engine would be same. Not sure about AU but an EL would have the speed limiter removed and LSD and better suspension. Also the instrument cluster goes up in 2km/h increments. Thats about it.

Is it a forte or a Futura. There should be a Tickford book with the car that details the extra wiring for aux equipment. Not all had LSD, and yes they are usually a little lower than stock

It's a forte, and all I got with it was the manual and a service records book, with the first few showing that it was serviced and a queesnald police force thingy - can't remember exactly, and it's 20 to 1 and i'm way too tired to go find it lol.

That reminds me, the speedo seems to be out by about 10% (too low), how would i fix that, and what would cause it?

A little? I remember seeing an Inspectors car once and it was riding on 16" steelies with the tyres well and truly tucked up inside the guards.

pretty sure they wernt chiped it was more of a handleing package and there won't be a stopper on first gear i.e. You won't have to press the button to go from drive to first.

Dunno bout QLD but WA cops had no limiter, XR springs,LSD, Bilsteins, (yellow shockies) and 225/55/R16 tyres and different interior lights, along with the cluster. Bloody good options
