my mandrel 2.5" lukey catback system has two straight thru mufflers (one after cat, and one at the back of the car)... my exhaust note is very nice... but ITS NOT THAT LOUD.

would gettin a hotdog mean that my rear lukey muffler is replaced by a hotdog? (and money gone to waste?)

can someone please tell me how to make my system louder.

Easiest and cheapest way to make it louder would be to remove one of the mufflers, and replace it with a pipe.
Getting a hot dog or resinator type put in in place may make it slightly louder to (I presuming that you have two full sized mufflers there).

By f**k careful with a modified cat. heard bad stories about the vibration and engine moving, metal fatiguing where the manifold side leaves the cat, and you get a greeat big leak..

i say jsut f**k man go highflow 2.5 inch, (and save your lunch money for a year after) and not have hassles.

for engine work, get a cat with reinforcing in it so if it afterfires ( :) ) you dont blow it to pieces..

i got 4480 comps, 2.5 inch supercat, onto stainless custom built 2.5 inch sytem with a straight through lukey muffler.

goes wiked, sound like a jet.

the redback systems give a deeper note, and are cheeper and easier, think carline sell em.

PH4480 onto Redback Exhuast here, no resonator. Sounds pretty Tough: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... ound+clips

Hey, does anyone know if the redback cats are good too?
Because that's what my 2.5" supposed 'highflow' cat is - has redback stamped on the casing.

after further research i have found the pacemaker comps 4480 will suit my car. the 4490 was actually a 4499 and arent comps which will also fit au down. so im guessing the 4480 comps are obviously better and have obted for them. you guys can check it out for yourself if you like at www.pacemaker.com.au. thanks and oh btw the ba's are model no:4490 once again thanks.

There's only two models of Pacies to suit EA to AU, they are the 4499 and 4480, ones comps ones standards.

yeah i would watch out if you mod your cat cause if you get caught your gonna get a big fine. and it smells shocking and it gets in the car just spend like 100 bucks more and get a hi-flow cat save you in the long run. who's modding it cause they will get in the s**t if they get caught. just a warning to you.

what i ment by modifying the cat was making the standard 2 1/4 cat fit to the 2 1/2 exhaust & headers. not punhcing out the insides of the cat if thats what u assume :) i think they just weld a 2 1/2 bit on the cat a get rid of the 2 1/4 bits. if i can get a hi flow cat at a fair price however i might consider it. thanks and oh ye i now need a chamber kit anyone got 1 or know some info on them. i got quoted $350-$400 to get K-MAC one fitted on the front. thanks.
