Hi all

I have just got a 2008 FG XR6 non turbo, and want to get a better sound out of the exhaust. I have rang a few places up, and have been given a quote for $500 for a X-Force 2.5 inch mild steel cat back system, or $950 for a stainless system. I have also got a quote for a lukey cat back system for $600 (unsure if its stainless or not). All I want is a nice note that dosent sound droney, it doesnt need to be overly loud, but would be nice to get a bit of noise out of it, but i have heard you cant make them too loud because of the variable timming, tends to make them ring. If any one has any input on this, i would be glad to hear it, or even some other suggestions, or other systems other people are running.

Cheers
Damo

I got a 2.5in Mandrel Bent X-Force exhaust with 2 mufflers, better sound than lukey/redback. No drone at any speed but when you put your foot down on the gas it makes a very nice exhaust note.

Thanks for that, is it the mild steel of stainless steel system you have? And do you have a sound clip of it?

Can you tell me where you got these quotes from? I'm looking at a new exhaust myself.

What is cheap steel? Is it the other name for mild steel? I'm just curious coz someone I know got fooled into buying this stuff which he thought was pure stainless exhaust systems.
