gday all

currently my car is running with a 2.5" cat back lukey exhaust with one muffler and one resonator.... i will be having a chrome tip added on soon and am considering cutting off the rear ressy, will this give me a better louder note, or just a s**t annoying droan. Does the majority out there have only one muffler?

cheers guys

Your young, you'll probably like the louder noise. It shouldn'tbe too bad. Maybe consider swaping the resinator to a hot dog. I've got that and with my hollowed out cat (done by the previous owner - fitting a hi flow as soon as possiable when i have money), it's rather loud but sounds great!

Too true OLD man. I got a 2.5" Red back with HI-Flow Cat and HM Headers and it is just right- not to drony but not to (Cop Notice) loud either.

You guys are only 18/19  and worring about noise at that age being cool is more important than practical. At 19 I had a XM falcon with a 289 windsor with only 2 18inch 1 each side hot dogs & the 2inch pipes exiting before the rear wheels made heaps of noise & my parents annoyed with me.

Now days I had the exhaust fitter remove the rear hot dog & replace it with a quieter muffler as the noise was hard to live with daily.

Same thing with my EL Falcon with Tints. Cant hear diddly squat outside when windows are wound up. Soon as you wind em down, you get blasted by the outside noise.

Need to get a wagon then. I seem to be able to hear a lot! Gunna attack the back with sound deadening soon.

I've got a 2 1/2" exhaust aswell. But I find it too droney at 70 to 80KMH.

Is there a way I can make it quiet at idle, quiet at cruising but loud when I decide to floor it?

If find that the points on were the exhauist is extremely loud depend on the extractors/exhaust manifold a fair bit.
