hmmm some interesting posts. A loud 6 will never ever sound or be mistaken for a V8 except by someone who has No idea. Some 6's can sound tough tho, Doesnt need to be loud to sound tough!

oh and hunt3r, xcabbi has helpd me out with heaps of my problems in the past. so dont go calling anyone any names.
you need to calm the eff down.

He wasn't having a go at me. He was going toe to toe with Masamune3. The post that he says he pm'd me was edited. If you look at my reply down the page, that was pretty much what was originally in that post (besides a temper tantrum directed squarely at our FG owning friend Masamune3). Pretty much the argument centred around the fact that Masamune3 doesn't know the value of money and hunt3r almost lost his life to learn that lesson.

I quoted that part of the post because I was rather intrigued by it all to the point where I called s**t and had to publically question it. You see, I am a cab driver and drug f**k little kids and their pretentious girlfriends spin the most fanciful s**t out there all in the name of public acceptance. From the Pm's residence at Kirribilli all the way to the housing commissions in Koonawarra, I've heard it all.
He pm'd me summarising that chapter of his life and also edited that post to remove that part of his life from public scutiny. only problem is, Its still quoted. Hence why everyone is raising their eyebrows thinking "what the hell just happened here"?

So in your cabbi expertise, is it BS or not?

What was the story?

Did a drug dealing young FG owner pull out his glock and try to cap his a**?

Knowing what goes on in Sydneys eastern suburbs it actually sounds quite plausible. If I never knew what went on in those parts of town I'd vehemently call s**t till I turned blue in the face, but I've seen some of this s**t first hand so I believe it.

2.5 inch cat back, with pacie comps man, it will sound sweet. You will not be 'pretentiously' loud, it will sound like a I6 should.
And it won't sound like your trying to compete with a V8 or that you have more balls than you really do. IMHO

Sorry xcabbi I dont like jap bikes either, but most cars sound good from inside but from the outside is a different story, mine is quite growly inside but too quiet outside - mmm that sounds a bit like sex feels good on the inside but on the outside ... maybe not so good to look at
I think the main thing is a deep exhaust note more so than just noisy :D

Ive got a full 3inch system with single muffler on my EB 4.0L.
Its had a fair bit done to it to warrant the 3inch size.
Drones a bit, but I havent had a bad comment about it.

Can post a vid if people are keen?

Most of you younger i6 guys still have time to see the light, before the rapture come's haha  .

I think it has something to do with not being allowed a v8.
and before somebody make a smart a*** comment about bringing it upon ourself, the increased restrictions didn't come about overnight.

secondly with a comment like that, I'd say you sound like the you've got quite a bit of growing to do. let me guess you still think your king s**t by the sounds of that post.

hay mate i curently run pacies 2 1/2 inch with one muffler,no cat and straight throuh to the rear :) and yes its very loud but it sounds great cause thats the way I like it and i get nothing but positive feedback from it and alot of its from old blokes to who love the sound of her! you dont have to have an 8 to sound good or even go fast. nothing wrong with the old 4l's! i think you should make it sound just the way you like  !

Running no cat is a bit of a risk though, isn't it something like a $10,000 fine?

haha nah mate not a fine, just a defect but the cat will be sorted very soon. It was a miscommunication with the exhaust place!

I'm pretty sure deliberately bypassing emission items cops a fine as well as a defect?

I had a redback single muffler system with pacemaker 4499's extractors and a magnaflow 200 CPI high flow cat. If I new just leaving the stock header and factory cat on(400CPI) with the single redback muffler system I would have been a happy camper. Sound is great from this clip of a stock ef with redback exhaust/////////

Another exhaust clip via a Manta 2.5in catback on an AU falcon.. got the lukey growl about it...but probably the best note I have heard from an I6 for a long time..

Another Au falcon with pacemaker comps, high flow cat and lukey exhaust... Sounds nbgood and clean....
