well ok ive got a crow cam and yes been told all the issues with it and accepted it and have been meaning to change it but never did then it came good about a month ago idled nice and picked up nicly was great till last night hopped in the car and had no brakes well i did but nearly nothing n hard pedal so i went straight to the booster n the bastard has cracked straight through!!! so im guessing it musta had the slightest crack starting a month back causing it to have an air leak and run a little leaner making things just nice to it gave up on me.... so today i bought a new one ($190) and got myself a s**t idle....

hahahahahahah dont u hate that!

get a small ball valve( a gas C**k will be better!! ) + a t peice and hook it up to the PCV valve so the ball valve get acces to the open air..

open the valve nice and slow untill u get the idle u want :P

because you are dealing with MAP setup doing the ball valve thing is just the expancive way of winding out the throttle stop or using a number drill to put a small hole in the throttle plate, untill you get a good idle.

and the leaking booster would not have caused it to run lean. again MAP sensor, it doesn't matter if the air gets in through the TB or not, it's in there and the MAP knows about it

If the brake booster was introducing a vac leak - it was basically doing what tickford_6 had suggested with the throttle stop/hole in TB plate... these are simply introducing vac 'leaks' - but in a controlled manner. A leak in the booster line is an uncontrolled way of going about it lol.

(hint: have a go at what he's suggested)

Not too bad a price on the booster...

yer thats what i was suggesting! it was letting more air into the system but he was saying the booster leak had nothing to do with it...

and new genuine booster is 190 trade.

Probably seeing less vac, increasing fuelling a bit - which tends to smooth the idle...

ahhh ok ill take your word for it, i just thought usually a cam lowered the intake vacuum's causing a running rich then with the vaccum leak it was getting more air and leaning it back out anyway ill just live with it till ive got some spare cash to change some things and fix the problems a differant cams probably my first starting point.
